Newlon is the Positive Behavior Support Crisis Specialist at CED’s Southern WV office in Big Chimney.  Carol has a master’s degree in Counseling from Marshall University and is a LPC and a LSW.  She is also a certified cognitive behavioral therapist and a certified public school teacher.  After teaching high school for five years, in 1991 Carol began providing therapeutic intervention for severely emotionally disturbed children and youth.  She then spent eight years directing programs to provide intensive in-home intervention services to conduct disordered and/or abused youth and their families.  
Text Box: This training will provide step-by-step instruction in the process of developing a positive behavior support plan that teaches alternative skills and creates environments where the individual can be successful.  This training is beneficial for QMRPs and others who provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
